Does anyone else feel that 3D is just an annoying gimmick?

The thing is: I really am blind in one eye since I was 16, so while I enjoy that I managed to see the sailbot and use the red-blue 3D glasses in the theater for Freddy's Dead, I never thought I was missing much.

Until IMAX, that is. Now I just try not to think about it. So I don't give a flying fuck if it is a gimmick or not. If you think it is, don't watch it. Like me!

I could when I was a kid. Took me a lot of time, bet eventually I saw the sailboat and everything else.

But the thing I can't do that most people can is seeing in 3D. At all.

I know... and it's not that I don't like it, I just don't have anything in my collection, except for a few Bad Brains songs.

Dude... I'm Brazilian and white, and so is half the population, if you don't get so attached to details in genetic inheritance, which we hardly do anyway.

I'm not going as far as saying that there's not any kind of racism here, but racial tension situations are extremely rare, with the obvious exception of some places that are predominantly inhabited by some specific race/ethnic group/etc, which I believe happens in most places in the world.

I found out about CoS when I was a teenager and was going through a heavy Marilyn Manson phase (around when Antichrist Superstar came out), and even though I was never the wearing-only-black-painting-his-face type of kid, the whole idea of respecting others while also demanding the same respect back always made a lot more sense to me than the prejudice and "turn the other cheek" that comes with Catholicism (which is pretty fucking strong where I live). Always thought it was a shame that people don't take it more seriously and focus only in the theatrics and the "Satan" image.

I never felt comfortable with the idea of following a single set of beliefs, so I never considered being a "member" of any religion - I have an open mind about them and apply whatever I think it's good to my life - but the only two religions I ever considered worth trying were Buddhism and LaVey Satanism. In any case, the rituals always make me give up.

Why don't you do an AMA about it? I know you would get a lot of silly jokes on the subject, but I've always wanted to know more about the religion itself (if you guys even call it a religion).

My plan is to, hopefully, buy some weed and put an end to my month-long break, and celebrate 4/20 properly.

It's already the 20th where I live, and I was supposed to have some by now, but no luck so far. I hope tomorrow will be a better day.

I've been diagnosed last year and have been on ritalin since, and what you just described is something that I never figured out how to deal with: the laser-like focus that will randomly land anywhere, from work and study to games and cleaning my inbox.

Thanks for the tips, I'll definitely try those exercises. Any more tips on how to deal with this?

I'm Only Sleeping is a great Beatles song, and I just love the lyrics - not only because I really identify with the theme, but also because I read somewhere that Lennon really was like that, and was somehow getting tired of people (McCartney?) waking him up because he was late for rehearsal...

I Want You (She's So Heavy) is just amazing... even though I've been listening to Beatles since I was a kid (thanks mom & dad), I only listened to this one a couple of years ago, and it just got my attention... it's really beautiful...
