Agreed, the RE agents that specialize in apartment rental are mostly scumbags. I'm not saying they will lie to you, but they often will not tell you anything bad about the place unless you ask. On craigslist look for the owner/no-fee listings and save yourself a month's rent on the bullshit realtor fee. I don't know if you've rented around here before, but couple other things - Spend as long in the apartment as you possibly can during visit. This will likely be the only time you get to inspect it, before moving in. I check cabinets for roach traps, look at windows, run the shower etc. If tenant is home, get info from them! And ask about heat, and exactly what it costs. Avoid oil if you can, because it gets crazy expensive.

It was European I think. It had to do with a piano player, and the set up was the same every episode: He'd come out on stage, sit down at the piano and start playing.

As he went on, he'd start hearing things inside the piano, and climb into it, and then find himself in another world, where he had adventures fighting monsters.

The animation and pacing and general tone were all kind of strange as I remember.

Does this sound familiar to anyone ?? Also, the guy wore a tux, and had glasses and a mustache I think.

Yes! I also think this is possible. Now this also occurred to me the other night when Flocke says that he wants to "go home" -- What if he's being kept there against his will ? Like there seems to be a history of controlling him -- the circles of ash, the sonic fence. Whereas Jacob can come and go, and even bring people to the Island if he wants.

Kind of conflicted about this. Even though they're basically being kidnapped out of Haiti, these kids standard of living - even life expectancy - would be vastly improved. Also, the attitude towards familial attachments is different in other cultures. Like article points out, parents often willingly give up their kids if they think its a good opportunity. But something about how this group planned to just come in and pick up kids and leave ASAP, without permission or paperwork, is fucked up. Sounds like some of these kids had parents who didn't necessarily consent to this. It leaves the door open to any number of other abuses of "trying to help."

Could be, could be. Piett also hadn't bad-mouthed the Force like that other guy from ANH. I still feel it violates precedent, if you will. ;) Watch it again. Piett looks scared, everyone's expecting something to happen -- but Vader just walks away. But maybe I'm reading too much into it. I really kind of feel like we're expected to notice it. Like even the other officers in the room seemed surprised. Watch it again -- this is the *only* time Vader doesn't kill one of his guys for screwing up.

OK, so in ESB, Vader does not Force-choke Piett after the Millenium Falcon goes to light speed and escapes from Cloud City.

Even though he had choked everyone else who screwed up, up until then.

Why ? He had just met Luke for the first time, and basically asked him to help overthrow the Emperor. Is this Vader's turning point ? Is he conflicted ? What do you think ?
